Football Fever

Football fever is raging around the globe, and its difficult to escape the hysteria..Myself,a self-proclaimed soccer fan was witness to one of the best matches in WC history yesterday. The tussle between Portugal and Netherlands was one of the most happening, intriguing, queerest fights on the football pitch I have witnessed in the recent past.

The match started with Cristiano Ronaldo having to leave the field after less than 5 minutes courtesy a rough tackle from a Portugal defender.Right from the start,it appeared that the referee was in mood to tolerate even the slightest aberration..Both the teams were equally talented, but Ports had the first strike when Maniche fired a brilliant goal after troubling Dutch goalie,Van der Sar on quite a few occassions. The first half ended with one Portugal player being red-carded.But the series of events were no precursor to what was to follow in the latter half.

The second half saw a flurry of yellow and red cards..4 reds the most being shown in any WC match history..Tackles,side-pushes,shirt-holding,head-butting,pushing and what not was on display in full attendance of hundreds of thousands of fans.Players were replaced regularly;tension running high, expletives were directed towards the opposition and the referee..All in all,a heck of a masala match..this drama is what makes football the most popular game on the planet.I was hoping the Portugese score a goal by the end of ninety minutes of high-adrenaline charged match so that we have an extended 30 minutes and we could be a witness to the first WC match which finally ends with five players from each side playing and a host of goals!!

Football at its best display!!Guess will have to leave now else will miss the Italy vs Australia showdown.Good Night and sweet dreams.

Fan-following

Seems I have loads of free time to idle away coz two worthy ppl(Holla, thats the fan following this shitty blog commands!!) have commented that I seem to be blogging quite frequently in the recent past.

I was really surprised to know of the vast popularity of my blog, which has received hits from places as remote as Atlantis and Shangri-La!!My readers wait eagerly for my next blog,as earnestly as I wait for the next SRK release..I wish the ilk of Karan Johar and Chopras stop making movies at the earliest to spare poor sould like us from watching Hakla overacting in each frame for thirty minutes beyond two hours. There have been innumerable lifts (call it internalization or copycats as u like) from my popular stories,my Bollywood movie reviews have made or broken careers of stars and wannabe starlets,My praise of God and Prabhuji has multiplied their fan-following hundreds of thousands of millions of times..My book reviews have made bestsellers..Thats the type of effect I have on the lives of mortals.

I remember one "pankha" writing to me not to continue blogging to spare him the torture..coz he could not bear to wait for my next piece of brilliance which I continue to pen down relentlessly with unabated flourish.
Taking cognisance of my loyal fan,I promise to spare all my readers the ignominy of browsing through ITTIAM for a looooong two days, after which i promise to be back with more fire.

Thanks again.

Rakhi's gift at Mika's birthday

The recent liplock controversy featuring Rakhi Sawant and Mika reflected Page3 journalism at its best(or worst??).The voluptuous, curvaceous, bootylicious starlet was kissed forcibly by the birthday boy Mika, brother of Daler Mehndi(the one singer who has 3 things up!! at any given point of time while dancing, either both his hands and one leg or both his legs and one hand, and who was caught pants down in illegal human trafficking case in the not very distant past).

The entire spectacle, footage of which was shown innumerable times live on National TV was eyeball grabbing..Rakhi arrived "fully" clad in a halter, backless top and mini-skirt (I dont remember what she wore below her bosom as my eyes were riveted to her vital assets!).She kissed Mika on the cheeks and splashed cake on his face..Guess Mika remembered some pondy videos where they do similar acts and in the "heat" of the moment,he grabbed "Rakhi behen" and smooched her..When she tried to move away, the "sawan-mein-lag-gayi-aag" star caught her hair and didnt let go until he was "satiated"..Perfect birthday present I would anyday give a leg (or mouth in this case) for.

This was too much for sati-savitri Rakhi who left in a huff. When she returned, she was accosted by her so-called brothers and friends, who were thrashed black and blue by Tiger,a 7-feet giant of a man and Mika's bodyguard in full view of the news-hungry media.(Being the daughter of an army-officer,I hope she could have done better than looking helplessly while her friends were being kicked).

When Rakhi was asked later about the matter, she affirmed that what clothes she wore was her choice, and wearing leaving-nothing-to-imagination attire (or nothing at all for that matter!!) was no excuse for taking her to be "easy",She was still a sushil Indian nari at heart..BTW,she was recently in the press regarding her stage-show in Gujarat where she was alleged to be shaking her booty while being inappropriately dressed..Pity those ogling front-benchers who would have had an eyeful, hoping for more when the Sangh Pariwar arrived..People love to watch her on TV dancing to "Mohabbat Hai Mirchi" but becomes too hot to handle in flesh and skin!!

But no publicity is bad publicity..May their tribe increase, and we starved souls have some more eye-candy to witness.

Black Friday

I picked up Hussain Zaidi's "Black Friday" after going through Opal Mehta..two entirely different genres of books...As opposed to the latter's chick-lit banality, the former is a non-fiction reality absed on the true course of events leading to and after the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts(hereafter referred to as B3).

The author,a crime reporter formerly working for Asian Age and now for Mid-Day recounts the role of D company,don-in-reel-and-gangsta-in-real-life Sanjay Dutt and hosts of politicians and high-profile personalities in B3.The source(s) of his detailed information is not elaborated but the way he elucidates them in his book makes it an absolute page-turner right till the last word.

The novel reveals some interesting facts hitherto unknown to a duffer like me..How Ramanand Sagar was responsible for B3..If Sagar had not made Ramayana, there would have been no LK Advani Rath Yatra-->no Babri Masjid demolition-->no Hindu-Muslim riots -->ultimately resulting in B3!!

Leaving PJs aside, the book delves into the psyche of Dawood and gang, how they meticulously orchestrated the greatest "terror strike" in recent Indian history and its aftermath. The movie based on the same novel, directed by Anurag Kashyap did not see the light of day(as also his "Paanch"!!) due to reasons (un)known. The novel also apprises the readers of the commendable police action, the irresponsible print reporting and various other facets of B3 unknown to the junta.

Grab a copy if you want to face the hard truth..
